Excavating Contractor in West Branch, Michigan

Licensed & Insured USDOT 4568929 Owner-Operated Free Estimates Serving Northeast Michigan

West Branch is the Ogemaw County hub, and the country around it is full of the projects we like best: pole barns going up on rural parcels, septic systems for homes outside town, long gravel drives that need a proper crown, and wet corners of hayfields and yards that want drainage.

Between West Branch and Hale sits Sage Lake, and its shoreline work is a regular run for us: seawalls, rip rap, and the grading that keeps a lake lawn from sliding downhill. In and around town we dig foundations, prep sites, and replace the sewer and water lines that decades-old properties eventually demand.

Owner-operated means the estimate you get in your driveway is from the person who will run the machine on your job.

Rural Ogemaw County work runs on logistics, and owning the truck is half the job. Long drives want a lot of stone, pole barn pads want fill and compaction, and wet field corners want pipe and gravel, all of it hauled in. Our tri-axle brings the material and the same machine that spreads it, so a West Branch project is one contractor and one invoice instead of three phone calls that have to line up.

The process out here is the same as everywhere we work: a walk of the site, a written free estimate, MISS DIG locates before digging, and the health department looped in on septic work from soil evaluation to final inspection. Sage Lake shoreline jobs add the EGLE permit, which we handle as part of the job.

And because the shop is only up the road, West Branch small jobs are real jobs to us. A culvert under a farm drive, a trench for water or electric to an outbuilding, a yard regraded after years of settling: call it in, get a callback within 24 hours, and get a straight number in writing.

The calendar is worth a word too. Winter does not stop the phone out here and it should not stop yours: frozen ground can be the cleanest time to clear a wooded corner or haul fill across soft ground, sewer failures get dug whatever the month, and getting on the spring list in late winter beats calling in May with everyone else. Tell us your timeline and you will get an honest answer about where the schedule stands, not a maybe.

About 35 minutes west of Hale on M-55, with Sage Lake right on the way.
