Seawall Repair in Northern Michigan

Licensed & Insured USDOT 4568929 Owner-Operated Free Estimates Serving Northeast Michigan

A seawall rarely fails all at once. It leans a little more each spring, soil washes out behind it, the cap loosens, and one hard ice year finally shoves it over. Catching it early is the difference between a repair bill and a full replacement.

We repair and replace failing walls on lakes across Iosco, Ogemaw, Arenac, and Alcona counties. If your wall can be saved, we will tell you. If it cannot, we will tell you that too, with a written estimate for doing it right.

What's included

  • Straightening and re-anchoring leaning walls
  • New tie-backs and dead-man anchors
  • Filling washouts and voids behind the wall
  • Cap and top rail replacement
  • Rip rap reinforcement at the toe of the wall
  • Full tear-out and replacement when repair is throwing good money after bad

How it goes

  1. Inspection

We look at the lean, probe behind the wall for voids, and check the anchors. You get a straight repair-or-replace answer.

  2. Estimate

A written free estimate for the fix that actually solves the problem, not a patch that fails next winter.

  3. Repair work

Anchoring, backfill, cap work, or panel replacement with compact equipment that is easy on your lawn.

  4. Grade and cleanup

Backfilled, graded, and cleaned up so the shoreline is usable again right away.

Seawall Repair questions

Can a leaning seawall be fixed, or does it need replacement?

Plenty of leaning walls can be pulled back and re-anchored if the panels are sound. Once panels are cracked through, rotted, or badly rusted at the waterline, replacement is usually the cheaper path over ten years. We tell you which case yours is.

Why is soil disappearing behind my seawall?

Water is getting through or under the wall and carrying the bank out with it. It is the most common failure we see, and caught early it is very fixable with anchoring and proper backfill.

Should I repair before winter?

Yes. Ice push is what turns a leaning wall into a flat one. Fall repairs are the best money you can spend on a marginal wall.

Do repairs need a permit too?

Work at the waterline often does. We sort out what EGLE and the county require and handle it as part of the job.
